DTF vs. DTG
DTF - Direct To Film
- DTF printing involves printing a design onto a special film, and then transferring the design onto fabric using heat and pressure.
- Can be done on any color and fabric.
- Allows for highly detailed, full-color designs to be printed on a wide variety of fabrics and materials.
- Can be done on most items.
DTG - Direct to Garment
- DTG printing directly applies ink onto fabric using a specialized printer, much like how an inkjet printer works on paper.
- Primarily works best on light-colored fabrics. Can only be done on heavy cotton fabrics. Can only be done on T-shirts and Sweatshirts
